However, it is not difficult to start a word or mouth marketing, you have to set goals for the campaign and track the result of the campaign consistently. Here are a few tips for your reference.

1. Give away free gifts

When customer purchase something from you, always append the sales with add on product for free, giving free things will encourage the customer to refer more sales who might be on the same interest for the product they had purchased. Make sure you include your contact details on the free gift so that it can be served as a marketing tool as well other than your word of mouth marketing campaign.

2. Introduce an affiliate program

Start an affiliate program for your product, try to search for webmaster, internet marketer, part timer and encourage them to sale your product. In return, you pay the sales commission when the product is sold. This is similar to MLM but is different in the general concept.

3. Build network

Build a network and gather customers and prospects to discuss about product around the niche. If your product is useful and helpful to the existing customers, you stand a chance to get more sales from the network when the existing customers discuss about the benefits of the product. This also indirectly builds a solid testimonial for your product.

4. Keep your customers or prospects updated

Whenever you launch a new product or service, send an update to the existing customers or prospects who have subscribed to your newsletter. Keeping your customer and prospect updated can be done in many ways, it can be done through direct mail, sending postcard, through phone call (telemarketing), or catalog distribution. With this, although the subscribers may not interested in the new product, they may have recommend it to others that they know who need those products.
