Although meta tag doesn’t affect and contribute much to improve your search engine ranking from some of the search engine point of view, but it is nice to have where some other search engine is using meta tags in the ranking formula.

Back link is the more important factor for search engine ranking, it is also called link popularity in other words. Almost all the search engines are ranking your website based on link popularity.

If more quality or authority websites are linking to you, it will improve your search engine significantly. However, many webmasters nowadays are using the technique of link exchange to increase link popularity, which means you place a link point to the other website, and the webmaster place a link in their website to point to your website. But the weighting of the popularity is not as heavy as a one way link.

When carry out link exchange, it is essential that you check out the quality of the site that you are linking to, make sure they are not bad neighborhood that has already banned by search engine, and also only link to the websites that having relevant contents as yours.

Search engine ranking is very important for successful internet marketing campaign, without having traffic from search engine, your website can be considered dead, and you will not get as much sale as other websites that are receiving traffic from search engines.
